While I love my kitties, I grew up with dogs & I can't imagine not having them in my life. For years, I shared my heart & home with English Springer Spaniels. They helped raise & socialize my kittens thru the years, as you may have seen in the various pictures on here. Today, I am springerless. When I lost my beloved Mack, aka Bubba... I just didn't have the heart to get another & being a groomer I figured it was time for a poodle. I had poodles growing up, but always the smaller ones & had longed for a "BIG" one... so Oliver got added to the family. While I don't breed dogs, when I was in the hosipital a few years ago, my ex allowed Oliver to breed our last remaining springers & I ended up with a couple of litters of 'doodles". Of course, no animal lover could raise such an adorable litter & not keep one, so Vinnie remained with me. Not to long ago a friend decided I "needed" a new baby, as we knew I was going to lose Maddy, my last remaining springer, to her cancer. While I never thought I'd have a "little" dog again, I will admit that Fannie, an orange merle parti pom, has stolen my heart. I had agreed to breed her, so my breeder had the chance at a pup from that line.. and kept her daughter - Petunia. I don't know that I could ever be a "dog breeder" as people don't seem to care as much about having a well bred, social, health screened pet, they just want cheap and young...and there are soooo many MUTTS (my "mutt" litter was a true accident.. caused by my ex while I was in the hospital) These are mutts being 'bred' as purebred... which they are not.. just because the parents are a purebred this and that.. you can NOT combine them, give them a cutesy name and call them purebred- ARHGHHH) - Sorry.. off Soapbox now. With Oliver getting up there in age, and with having a hobby farm, I added a English Shepherd to the mix and after the tragic loss of my heart and soul, Fannie...Ive added a few more pommies. Below are some pictures of my pups thru the last 25 years.
Two years ago I lost my precious Oliver. While I love poodles, my heart
just couldn't get another and so I added Connor, a second English Shepherd. I have to admit.. I'm totally smitten with the Breed. Poodles are smart but the ES are so much more. They are problem solvers, intuitive, love a job but actually have an off switch making them just an ideal dog.
